I wanted to include a few new insights from a conference reflections paper I wrote for class that I think will prove to be beneficial as I truly begin to develop my thesis topic. I think I will post them one at a time though over the next couple of weeks. I’m looking for any feedback, comments, suggests.
Co-operation.
I still have a connection to architecture, I probably always will. While my working thesis topic does not directly relate to the architecture profession, I would like to make a connection. I would like to connect the training and apprenticeship program to the working profession of architecture, and not as a supportive handholding role. I would like architecture students, interns and professionals to work in partnership with apprentice students. I would like to see a cross-boundary sharing of knowledge. This seems like a rather lofty goal and ideal solution, and perhaps it is.
What do you think?
Sounds like a win win situation. Each can learn and mentor at the same time. I would suggest you establish a set of expectations for each of the stakeholders.
Thanks Steve… great suggestion. Adding that to my list of to dos.
